Save Civita Because Sudberry Won't

Save Civita from a 4-lane, 55-mph freeway connector through the center of our neighborhood!

Main Content

Important Announcement:

On January 28, 2020, the San Diego County Superior Court ruled that the environmental documents supporting the Franklin Ridge Road connection were adequately prepared and ruled in favor of the City.

At this time, the Save Civita Because Sudberry Won’t board, which includes representatives from Civita and Serra Mesa, is considering its options. Watch for more information in the near future.

About

San Diego City Council approved a 4-lane, 55-mph freeway connector allowing over 23,000 cars daily (immediately) increasing to over 34,000 cars a day through Serra Mesa and half-mile stretches of Via Alta and Franklin Ridge roads in Civita, a densely populated residential community.

These roads are permanently flawed because the steep slope and the curves of the roads prevent crosswalks or traffic calming from ever being installed.

If the speedway connector is completed, lives will be at risk. Because of the permanent flaws, these roadway segments are “unsafe at any speed”.
